Our Commitment to Independent Christian Education
Asbury Classical has made a principled and prayerful decision not to accept any government-tied funding. This conviction is rooted in three key reasons:
Ministry First: Asbury Classical is a ministry of the local church. To remain distinctively Christian—as "salt and light"—we must be free from entanglements that could compromise our mission. Accepting outside funding risks diluting the clarity and integrity of our purpose.
True Partnership with Families: We believe that when families invest in their children’s education, a genuine partnership is formed. This shared commitment between home and school fosters ownership, accountability, and lasting impact.
Generational Vision: Our goal is to cultivate a multi-generational legacy of Christian education—one that is not subject to shifting cultural or political whims. A government-independent model allows us to pursue a consistent, Christ-centered curriculum for generations to come.
As a result, Asbury Classical is committed to supporting families through the generosity of the Christian community. We will offer tuition assistance through private donations, church support, and individual giving. We acknowledge that federal and state school choice subsidy programs can often be a blessing to individual families in the short term. Money doesn’t seem to go as far as it once did, so when things get tight, every bit helps. But remaining free from the strings that are often attached to government school choice funding will enable Asbury Classical to remain free of outside influence and true to its core mission of making disciples long into the future, especially when it is unpopular to do so.
