Mr. Chris Breiland – Head of School
Chris Breiland, a native of Williston, ND, moved to Bartlesville, OK, in 2006 to attend Oklahoma Wesleyan University, where he earned a degree in Pastoral Ministry in 2010. He continued his theological education at Wesley Biblical Seminary in Jackson, MS, graduating in 2012 with a Master of Arts in Theology.
Throughout his career, Chris has worked in higher education, secondary education, and primary educational ministry. His passion for reading, learning, and teaching led him to embrace classical education, driven by a desire to address the negative impact of technology, culture, and modern teaching standards on students and their families.
Chris and his wife, Whitney—a lifelong Oklahoman—have been married for 15 years. Together, they have three children, Charlotte, Caroline, and Shepherd, and are deeply committed to raising their family in the body of Christ at Asbury Church.
Mrs. Christina Parris – Secretary
Mrs. Parris is originally from Long Island, NY and came to Tulsa to attend ORU where she earned her degree in communications. She has over 15 years’ experience working in corporate human resources in addition to providing college advising services to high school students. She is a member at Asbury Church and has been married to her husband Noah for 28 years. They have two daughters who have both received a classical education. She has seen the benefits of this approach firsthand and is excited to serve Asbury Classical school families.
Mrs. Heather Wagner - Kindergarten Teacher Aide
Mrs. Wagner has a BS degree from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma. She has taught for a total of 15 years, varying in locations from Tulsa, Oklahoma to Washington DC area. She and her husband have two sons who are 20 and 16 years old.
Mrs. Sarah Biegel - Kindergarten / Lead Teacher
Mrs. Biegel has a BS degree from Thomas Aquinas college in southern California. She has taught for nine years, six of which were in classical schools in Anchorage, Alaska and Tulsa prior to coming to ACS. She and her husband Reagan have two girls who attend preschool at Asbury.
Ms. Corrie Jared - First Grade Teacher
Ms. Jared has a BA in English Literature from ECU, an MA in Teaching English as a Second Language from OSU, and a graduate certificate in Effective Elementary Education, also from OSU. Ms. Jared homeschooled her older children for many years, primarily through collaboration with a university-model classical school in Flower Mound, Texas. Her four children range in age from 23 to 8.
Mrs. JoAnna Maust - Second & Third Grade Teacher
Mrs. Maust holds a BA in Psychology from Oral Roberts University and brings 13 years of homeschooling experience with her own children. She founded and operated a Christian cottage school, teaching grades kindergarten through fourth grade. Her classroom experience also includes teaching kindergarten, second, and third grade. Mrs. Maust and her husband Jon have four children, ages 12-20, with two currently in college and two at home.
Mrs. Brenda Donia - Music & Physical Education
Mrs. Donia, a graduate of Broken Arrow High School and Northeastern State University, brings over 20 years of experience in music education. She taught choral music in Canton, Texas, for 18 years before becoming the Director of Children’s Music at Asbury Church in Tulsa in 2021. Mrs. Donia helps lead worship at Asbury on Thursday nights with her husband, Frank, sings in the choir and with the modern worship team on Sundays, and directs the Showtime Theater for Asbury’s VBS. She also teaches private voice and piano lessons. Passionate about her faith, Mrs. Donia loves mentoring young singers and musicians for God’s glory.
Mrs. Crawford - First Grade Teacher Aide
Mrs. Crawford holds a BS degree from Oral Roberts University. She has years of experience supporting children and families through her work in faith-based nonprofits. A foster and adoptive mother, Mrs. Crawford brings both personal and professional insight to her role in the classroom. She and her husband have two children who attend preschool at Asbury.
Mrs. Erika Elijah - Second & Third Grade Teacher Aide
Mrs. Elijah holds a BS from John Brown University. She homeschooled her son K through 3rd using Classical Conversations. She has been a dedicated volunteer with Asbury Kids and Students for 10+ years. She and her husband, Matthew, have been married for 21 years and have 2 teenagers. Their family has traveled all over the United States and to 13 countries. She’s an avid reader of British, European, American Literature. She enjoys her patio garden, watercolor painting, and hosting friends.
