CHRIS BREILAND
Headmaster’s Welcome
Welcome to Asbury Classical School!
The way to make the biggest difference in the world is through the long, slow, deliberate work of building up—and building for—the next generation. To that end, we launched Asbury Classical School in the fall of 2024 as one of the means by which Asbury Church will pass the Christian faith down to the next generation and beyond. We believe this mission is best accomplished by aligning the three formative environments in a child’s life—the home, the school, and the church—so that each child may be brought to maturity of character, intellect, and faith. In a world increasingly filled with confusion and anxiety, a classical Christian education at Asbury will keep your family anchored in God’s enduring goodness, truth, and beauty.
At Asbury, we believe that training the mind is an essential part of discipleship. A well-trained intellect, working in harmony with a heart devoted to God, reflects the Imago Dei and honors the design with which God created us. To become mature, faithful adults, students must learn to think critically, reason clearly, and discern God’s will. We pursue this formation through a classical education rooted in the rich tradition of the liberal arts.
I have seen firsthand our students’ love for hymns, art, nature, and literature grow in ways that both humble and inspire me. Watching them learn to work hard, show respect and kindness, and delight in what is good has been one of the sweetest rewards of this work. To see Asbury families reorient their lives around God and His Church, prioritize family time, implement spiritual habits in their homes, and practice discernment in the use of technology are clear signs that the Lord is at work among us. To partner in ministry with mature, gifted teachers who love the Lord and delight in shaping young hearts and minds is a privilege beyond measure. Asbury Classical School is truly a special place.
If this vision of education resonates with you, I invite you to explore what God is doing at Asbury Classical School and to consider joining us in this endeavor—to form our habits, loves, and desires toward a life lived in Christ for the sake of the world.
Sincerely,
Chris Breiland
