What are the classroom sizes?

For grades kindergarten – 3rd grade, classes are capped at 15 students. Kindergarten, first grade, and second grade have one full-time teacher and one full-time teacher aide per class. Third grade has one full-time teacher.

Why do students wear uniforms?

There are many benefits. Like any uniform, school uniforms are a visual reminder of a common purpose (in this case, to learn). Uniforms remove unnecessary distractions that typically divide students (e.g., socio-economic status, name brands, preferences) and promote a common identity. While clothing is often associated as a means of self-expression, uniforms remind students that their primary expression comes from their character and choices as image-bearers of God.

What curriculum do you use?

Our teachers make use of a number of resources to develop a scope and sequence for each class. In Classical Education teachers are trained to become the “living curriculum” that is able to personalize education within a class. For specifics on math and science, please ask.

Do I need to be part of a Christian church for my child to attend ACS?

The Bible establishes two institutions for the discipleship of children: the family and the church. As a school, we exist to partner with families and the church in the formation of children. If Christian parents believe the education of their student is important, we believe it is imperative for families to be part of a local church. Please let us know how we can help you find a church home. We would love for you to worship with us at Asbury Church.

Is ACS an accredited school?

Asbury Classical School is a startup school and is a member of the Association of Classical Christian Schools. We are pursuing accreditation with ACCS.
